Redesign the shipping configuration system to support merchants with diverse product catalogs, international shipping needs, and promotional strategies.
- Contribution
Collaborated with sales and customer support to identify key use cases and limitations of the existing system. Developed the concept of "Shipping Rules" that could be applied selectively to different products. Created and validated prototypes with actual customers, using real use cases to demonstrate value. Incorporated the solution into the broader dashboard redesign initiative.
- Impact
The flexible shipping rules system enabled Celery to attract and retain more sophisticated merchants who previously couldn't manage their shipping costs effectively. This directly contributed to new customer acquisition and helped position the platform as a legitimate alternative to major crowdfunding sites, directly contributing to Celery's acquisition by Indiegogo in 2016.
