Work
These projects demonstrate my experience and approach to solve problems—balancing business needs with human-centered design across diverse industries, from zero-to-one launches to established platforms.
Meta
Horizon OS Architecture
Horizon OS needed to evolve its operating system architecture for how users would interact with digital content in physical and virtual spaces as Meta's hardware evolved to embrace mixed reality. This work defined fundamental spatial interaction patterns that would scale across future devices and experiences.
Migrating users to Meta Avatars 2.0
Meta Avatars 2.0 represented a significant ecosystem shift across multiple platforms. We needed to transition millions of users without disrupting their experience and the Quest ecosystem—requiring delicate coordination between technical constraints, user expectations, and business goals spanning multiple teams.
Meta AI for Quest
The integration of Meta AI into Quest represented a pivotal shift in how users would interact with Horizon OS, moving beyond traditional hand-controlled interfaces to context-aware voice interactions across both virtual and mixed reality environments.
Evolving Meta Quest Home
As the "boot space" users see when wearing their headsets, Quest Virtual Home evolved from a simple static environment into a dynamic social space with interactive augments. This project set the design strategy and vision for Home as the foundation of Meta's spatial computing ecosystem, eventually evolving into Mixed Reality Home.
Foundations for Social Surfaces
As a result of Oculus graph and Meta graph migrations, Quest's social surfaces were originally fragmented and had inconsistent interaction models. This initiative created a cohesive architecture for social experiences that would scale with the platform's growth and support Meta's vision for social VR.
Designing a Messenger Client for Quest
Bringing Messenger to Quest presented an opportunity to rethink text communication in VR, balancing the established Messenger brand with the unique challenges of input in an immersive environment.
Indiegogo
Evolving Pre-launch Pages
Entrepreneurs on crowdfunding face a critical challenge: building interest before their campaign officially launches can significantly impact success, yet Indiegogo platform's existing cover page feature had low adoption despite its potential value.
Redesigning the Campaign Page
Indiegogo's campaign pages are where entrepreneurs showcase their ideas to potential backers, driving 80% of platform traffic. However, despite mobile users representing 60% of visitors, the mobile experience had never been optimized, resulting in conversion rates 20-30% lower than desktop.
Design Systems and Operations
When I joined Indiegogo, the design ecosystem had fragmented through multiple redesigns and team transitions, creating inconsistencies across the platform and inefficiencies in the design-to-development workflow.
Celery
Flexible Shipping Rules
Celery's growth from a simple pre-order platform to a comprehensive alternative to crowdfunding platforms demanded more sophisticated shipping solutions for merchants with complex product catalogs and international sales strategies.
Brand & Platform Redesign
Celery needed to evolve from a generic bootstrapped startup appearance to a polished platform that could compete with established crowdfunding sites and attract sophisticated e-commerce merchants looking for pre-order solutions.
Pond5
Public Domain Collection
Pond5's initiative to create a comprehensive public domain media archive represented an opportunity to fulfill the company's mission of empowering creators while differentiating from competitors in the stock media marketplace.
Redesigning the Platform
Pond5, a global marketplace for stock media, had grown organically since 2006 without dedicated design leadership. By 2013, the platform needed a comprehensive visual and functional refresh to compete with both established players and emerging competitors.
Peixe Urbano
Multi-Platform Design System
As Peixe Urbano expanded beyond its initial daily deals model into restaurant reservations and food delivery, the design team faced a significant challenge: how could three designers effectively support a rapidly growing ecosystem of products while maintaining brand consistency across diverse platforms?
iOS App
In 2011, as smartphone adoption was beginning to accelerate in Brazil, Peixe Urbano recognized an opportunity to extend its platform beyond the web. Peixe needed a simple and efficient mobile experience to help customers validate coupons and discover new places.
Revenue-Driven Redesigns
In its explosive growth period, Peixe Urbano faced the challenge of scaling its platform while maintaining conversion rates. With millions of monthly visitors and rapidly expanding offerings, the company needed to optimize its core user experience to support revenue goals and accommodate new features without overwhelming users.
